A complete Honda Gold Wing engine had to be cleaned in our workshop as a pre-test for one of our customers. In case of success the customer wanted to introduce the suggested technology on his own premises. Glasbeads were out of discussion because of abrasive dust that could enter the crankase or other parts of the engine through various openings. In addition, the original appearance of the engine was to be conserved and no brightening of the outer surface was wanted. The decision was made in favour of Nutshell Granules sized 0,15-0,25 mm and a CLEMCO Sandblasting Machine SCW-1028 was used. The expected result was reached.
