Control head for decentralised automation of hygienic process valves
The control head Type 8681 is optimised for decentralised automation of hygienic process valves. Universal adaptation allows it to be combined with all standard butterfly valves, ball valves, and single and double seat valves. In the decentralised automation concepts, the control head takes over full pneumatic control, feedback and diagnostics functions, including bus communication. The body is very easy to clean, has proven IP protection and chemically-resistant materials for use in hygienic processing plants in the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries. Depending on the process valve used, up to 3 pneumatic actuator chambers can be controlled independently of each other. The switching speeds for both directions of movement can be set separately. A built-in check valve prevents switching errors in process valves due to back pressure. The process valve switch positions are recorded by the inductive, analogue position sensor and fed back to the higher-level controller. Up to 3 switch points can be set via the teach function at the push of a button or automatically determined by predefined X.TUNE functions. In addition, a fourth switch position can be detected and fed back via an external inductive proximity switch. The coloured device status LED signals the respective switch position of the process valve and diagnostic functions such as maintenance required or fault conditions. The pilot valves are equipped with a mechanical manual override. If the device is closed, the patented magnetically encoded manual override allows the main actuator to be switched from outside. Bus communication is possible with AS-Interface, IO-Link or büS/CANopen.
