Description
As a mass flow controller (MFC) or mass flow meter (MFM) for gases, Type 8741 covers a broad application range and is available with an Industrial Ethernet, analog, or fieldbus interface. The version with the CANopen-based Burkert system bus (buS) can be integrated directly into existing CANopen networks or, in combination with the Type ME43 fieldbus gateway, connected to almost all common Industrial Ethernet or fieldbus standards. This option is specifically designed for applications with a large number of control loops: up to 32 MFCs or MFMs can be connected to a single fieldbus gateway, with the Type ME43 converting the internal CANopen communication to the respective Industrial Ethernet or fieldbus standard. Switching between buS and CANopen communication is possible at any time.
Type 8741 can be configured as either an MFM or an MFC as required; a Modbus RTU version is also available. Up to four calibration curves can optionally be stored in the device. The thermal MEMS sensor is located directly in the gas stream, enabling very fast response times. A direct-acting proportional valve from Burkert serves as the actuating element, providing high response sensitivity.
