Description
The Type 8098 flow meter belongs to the FLOWave product family and uses SAW technology (Surface Acoustic Waves). It was specifically developed for applications with the highest hygienic requirements: suitable stainless steel materials, a measuring tube completely free of internal parts, and a thoughtfully designed hygienic exterior form the basis for this.
The inherent advantages of FLOWave include flexibility, good cleanability, compact dimensions, low weight, as well as simple installation and handling; the device also meets a number of relevant standards. The Type 8098 achieves optimal measurement results in homogeneous liquids free of air and solids. For higher-viscosity media, integrated viscosity compensation is available. Gases and steam cannot be measured, but they do not impair the device in any way - as soon as liquid flows through the tube again, the sensor resumes correct measurement.
In addition to volume flow, optional density measurement is available, allowing mass flow to be calculated from volume flow and density. Further special functions, derived from additional process values such as differentiation factor, acoustic transfer factor, and concentration, provide supplementary information about the respective medium (see data sheet for details).
