A long-time customer asked for help in simplyfing the process of regeneration of wheelsets of vehicles used by Deutsche Bahn (German Railway). So far, the coating of the wheelsets was removed with chilled iron grit. After finishing the removal of the coating, the wheel axles had to be smoothened in a very time-consuming process, followed by the inspection for further processing or shut-out. At first a typical wheelset was divided into different areas. We began sand-blasting with our CLEMCO SCW-1638, that we had carried to the premises of our customer. Pre-defined was a specific Rz-Value that had to be reached or even to be fallen below, therefore various sand-blasting grid in various gradation was deployed by us. It was a succes.
