Also referred to as "black diamond", boron carbide is one of the hardest materials there is. Its extreme wear resistance in particular makes it the ideal material for blasting nozzles - especially with highly abrasive blasting media such as corundum, silicon carbide or aluminum oxide.
Boron carbide nozzles dwarf the service life of all other materials, which also makes them very economical.
