Fittings for snowmaking systems
Snowmaking is a special case within the process industry: water at high pressure, temperatures around freezing, operation with thick gloves in the dark. The SnowMaster range is cut exactly to that – 52 items in three subcategories, from the lever coupling through the fixed fitting to the drainage adaptor.
PN 60 bar – the highest rating in the range
The pressure rating stands out. 23 items are rated for PN 60 bar and a further four for PN 40 bar; that is far above anything else in this group and necessary because snow guns on a slope are fed at high inlet pressure. Twelve items sit at PN 16 bar – the draining and accessory parts that are not in the main line.
Frost draining as a group of its own
The third subcategory deserves particular attention: drainage adaptors. A snowmaking line has to drain completely at the end of the season, otherwise the first frost destroys the fittings. The adaptors with automatic drain valves and fixing spikes are built precisely for that and are usually ordered together with the couplings.
Stainless 1.4401 and galvanised steel
On material, stainless steel 1.4401 leads with 34 items, joined by 15 in galvanised steel for the load-bearing parts. Common connections are SLW 25-28 and SLW 38-40 on the hose side and G 2 1/2 on the thread side.
