Indicators and Lighting
Under indicators and lighting Turck groups everything that signals, indicates and guides the operator at the machine – from the tower light and the beacon to the illuminated button at the picking station. We have adopted this structure from the Turck catalogue: the area sits under Turck control technology and comprises 1,423 items in six categories. It also includes the industrial LED work lights (516 items): line, spot and area lights that illuminate machines, control cabinets and workstations.
Signal lights and tower lights
With 421 items in nine series, the Turck signal lights are the largest group: tower lights with up to five segments, compact beacons and multifunction indicators, optionally with an audible signal device, in protection classes IP50 to IP67. They report machine states at a distance and show at a glance whether a system is running, waiting or faulty. If you want to signal on the cabinet door rather than on the machine, you will find indicator lights, pushbuttons and selector switches at Siemens commanding and signalling devices.
Beacons and indicator lights
Smaller and more direct than the tower are the LED beacons: 244 items as dome, flat puck or rectangular housing from 30 to 90 mm in diameter, with one to seven colours, steady, flashing or rotating, some with an integrated audible signal. ATEX versions of the K30LI series are available for hazardous areas. Even more compact are the LED indicator lights with threaded barrel (81 items): they are screwed into a hole or bracket like a proximity switch – the S18L, S18DL and S18DLH series in UV-resistant plastic, M18 in nickel-plated brass.
Buttons and pick-to-light
Where the operator should not only see but also acknowledge, the touch buttons and pushbuttons come in: 127 items, mostly capacitive buttons of the K30, K50 and K70 series that trigger without force and are immune to splash water, cleaning agents and oils; plus mechanical pushbuttons, VTB optical buttons and programmable S22A RGB buttons. Whole shelf compartments are monitored by the pick-to-light sensors (34 items): PVA light grids with a 100 to 375 mm scan field, the one-piece PVD light grid and the networkable PTL110 display modules.
The neighbours in the control cabinet
In this area Turck supplies the signalling side at the machine and the workstation, not the switching device itself. Contactors, circuit breakers, motor protection and power supplies are found at Siemens low voltage and Schneider electric. Every Turck item carries an ident number and a descriptive type designation; with either of them we will find it even if it is not yet listed in the shop.
