Siemens SIRIUS 3SE5 position switches in plastic enclosures
Plastic enclosures are light, corrosion-resistant and insensitive to moisture – which is why they make up a large share of the position switches in the SIRIUS 3SE5 series. Switching points and mounting dimensions comply with EN 50047 and EN 50041, so switches to the same standard can usually be replaced without drilling new holes.
The designs at a glance
The widest selection is offered by the narrow 31 mm version to EN 50047. The 40 mm version to EN 50041 has the same dimensions as the metal variant, and the 50 mm wide enclosure offers two cable entries and more connection space with the same switching point position as the 31 mm design.
Selection and replacement
Besides the standard, the contact configuration, contact type and connection – cable gland or M12 connector – matter. For high mechanical stress the metal enclosure is the better choice; heads, levers and covers for retrofitting can be found in the accessories and spare parts range.
