Turck

Turck has been building automation technology for factory, process and logistics automation since 1960. Hans Turck founded the engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr; in 1965, together with Werner Turck and Hermann Hermes, it became a manufacturing business, and the company is still entirely family-owned. Around 4,500 employees work across 30 national subsidiaries, sales partners are based in more than 60 countries, and production runs in Germany, Poland, the USA, Mexico and China. In our shop Turck is listed in three areas, Turck sensors, Turck control technology and Turck safety technology – together almost 12,000 items, structured the same way as the Turck catalogue.

Pressure sensors

The Turck pressure sensors are the largest listed area: pressure transmitters with a 4…20 mA current output, pressure transmitters with a voltage output and electronic pressure switches with display and IO-Link, from vacuum up to more than 1,000 bar. Besides the measuring range, the deciding points are the measuring cell – ceramic or fully welded metal –, the process connection with G, NPT or metric thread and the protection rating up to IP69K. All three are available as filters in every category.

Photoelectric, ultrasonic, capacitive, magnetic field and temperature sensors, encoders

The photoelectric sensors cover through-beam and retro-reflective sensors, diffuse sensors, fibre-optic sensors, fork sensors, light curtains as well as optical distance, colour and contrast sensors – split by design, because the question of where the light may go decides the selection. The ultrasonic sensors also detect glass, film, liquids and bulk material where an optical sensor fails – as diffuse-mode sensors up to 8 m and as ultrasonic barriers. The capacitive sensors also detect plastic, glass and liquids and sense levels through non-metallic container walls – in threaded or smooth barrels and in rectangular housings. The magnetic field sensors report the piston position of pneumatic cylinders through the cylinder wall and detect magnets at up to 90 mm. The temperature sensors range from Pt100 probes through transmitters with 4…20 mA and IO-Link to contactless infrared sensors. The encoders range from incremental encoders through singleturn and multiturn absolute encoders to contactless rotary encoders without bearing or coupling. Shaft, flange and interface – HTL, TTL, SSI, CANopen, IO-Link – narrow the choice down.

Linear position and flow sensors, RFID and machine vision

For travel and position we list magnetostrictive linear position sensors, the inductive linear position sensors with a contactless positioning element, and draw-wire and magnetically actuated position sensors. Flow is monitored by the immersion flow sensors working on the calorimetric principle, by the inline flow sensors and flow meters installed directly in the pipe, and by the matching evaluation units and accessories. Turck identification systems comprises HF and UHF RFID read/write devices and tags, Turck machine vision comprises vision sensors and smart cameras for presence, position and code inspection.

Signal lights, push buttons and work lights

Everything that signals at the machine and guides the operator is grouped under Turck indicators and lighting. The Turck signal lights comprise tower lights and multifunction indicators in nine series with 30, 50 and 70 mm diameter; they are joined by LED indicator lights, threaded-barrel indicators, capacitive and mechanical push buttons and pick-to-light sensors for picking stations. The LED work lights illuminate machine, control cabinet and workstation as linear, spot and area lights.

Fieldbus, interface and safety technology

Turck fieldbus technology covers IP67 I/O modules for field mounting, IP20 I/O systems for the control cabinet and bus components for process automation; Turck interface technology covers isolating switching amplifiers, transducers and power supply isolators for signal isolation between field and controller. For hazardous areas, the excom system enclosures house the excom remote I/O system directly in the Ex zone. Turck safety technology comprises safety light curtains for finger, hand and body protection, multi-beam safety light barriers, emergency stop buttons, safety switches and safety modules.

What else Turck makes

The Turck programme is considerably wider than the part we list: inductive proximity switches, radar and inclination sensors, and sensor and actuator cables in M8, M12 and M23. We source these items on request. For devices used in safety functions or hazardous areas, the risk assessment and zone classification remain the responsibility of the operator.

Selection and ordering

Every Turck item carries an ident number and a descriptive type designation – with either of them we can identify it unambiguously, even if it is not yet listed in the shop. Around 40,000 items can be sourced from the current Turck catalogue; discontinued types are not included in that figure. The product pages show the technical data sorted by group, and every category offers filters for the features that decide the purchase.
