Inductive proximity sensors
Inductive proximity sensors detect metal objects without contact and wear-free. They are the standard sensor for position detection on machines, fixtures and conveyors. We list 1,962 SICK items, organised by housing size.
What matters when choosing
First the housing size (thread M8 to M30 or rectangular), then the installation: flush sensors sit level in metal and are mechanically protected, non-flush sensors achieve the larger sensing range. Electrically, versions differ by output (PNP or NPN), switching function (NO, NC, complementary) and connection (M8/M12 connector or cable).
Series
IME and IM Standard are the economical all-rounders, IMB and IMF the rugged sensors for coolants, mobile machines and the food sector. IMM covers miniature designs, IMI and IMS stainless steel and special versions, the IQ series the rectangular designs.
