Pressure sensors
Turck groups all pressure sensors into one category – 3,316 items, from vacuum to over 1,000 bar. We have split them by output signal, because that is the first question when purchasing: does the controller need an analog signal, and if so current or voltage – or should the sensor switch by itself? The level sits under Turck sensors.
Pressure transmitters with current output
The pressure transmitters with current output (1,563 items) provide the pressure as an impressed 4…20 mA signal. The current stays the same over the whole cable, and neither cable resistance nor coupled interference falsifies it – the right choice for long runs, drag chains and environments with frequency converters. In two-wire technology, supply and signal share the same two cores.
Pressure transmitters with voltage output
If the cable stays short, the voltage output is cheaper: the pressure transmitters with voltage output (1,298 items) supply 0…10 V, 0…5 V or 1…6 V in three-wire technology, straight to the analog input. For mobile hydraulics there are ratiometric variants whose output follows the 5 V supply and compensates for its fluctuations, plus automotive connectors such as Deutsch DT04-3P and AMP Superseal.
Electronic pressure switches
Where only a threshold is monitored, the switch saves the analog evaluation: the electronic pressure switches (455 items) switch a PNP or NPN output at the set point. Switch point, release point, hysteresis or window mode and delays are set on the device, on 222 items via a four-digit display rotatable by 180 degrees. 437 devices support IO-Link and deliver measured value and parameters digitally as well.
What decides the choice
Besides the measuring range, three details decide the purchase. The measuring cell: ceramic (Al₂O₃) is chemically resistant and economical, the fully welded metal cell works without seals and withstands pressure peaks. The process connection: G, NPT, UNF, R or metric thread, plus Tri-Clamp for food applications. And the protection class: IP65 to IP69K, the latter for high-pressure cleaning. All three are available as filters in every category.
Connection, neighbours and ordering
The electrical connection is mostly via M12 connectors, on the valve housings via DIN EN 175301-803.
