Electronic pressure switches monitor a pressure and switch a PNP or NPN output at the set switching point – without a higher-level controller. Switch point and release point, hysteresis or window mode, switch-on and switch-off delay and the pressure unit are set directly on the device. Some series carry a four-digit display, rotatable by 180 degrees, that changes between red and green and shows the switching state at a glance. Devices with IO-Link additionally transmit the measured value and all parameters digitally, can be parameterised from the controller and restored automatically when a device is replaced; in SIO mode they continue to work as ordinary switches. Many versions offer an analog output alongside the switching outputs, so that switching and measuring are combined in one device.
