Quick connect couplings series ESA DN 5.5
The ESA series is the only range of the quick-release couplings with an international plug-in profile that carries connections in both inch G threads and NPT. That makes it the first choice for machines and plant going to or coming from the North American market – the rest of the programme covers G and R threads exclusively.
G and NPT threads in one range
The 36 items are spread over six groups: couplings with male thread, with female thread and with hose barb, plus the three matching plug nipple versions. The threaded plug nipples form the largest block with seven items each. The industrial sister range Series ESAI DN 5.5 uses the same plug profile but is made from hardened steel.
775 l/min at DN 5.5
Flow is 775 l/min and the permissible operating pressure PN 35 bar. 31 of the 36 items are made of bright brass MS 58 and five of galvanised, yellow passivated steel. Sealing is with NBR. On the valve side free flow predominates with 20 items, single shut-off follows with 16.
Six groups, 36 items
The thread span runs from G 1/8 to G 1/2 and from NPT 1/8 to NPT 1/2, each as male and female thread; barbs lie between SLW 6 and SLW 13. For a venting variant in the same nominal width there is Series ESAIS DN 5.5, for a pure brass range Series ESO DN 5.5, for DN 5.5 in a different profile Series ESB DN 5.5 and for DN 8 Series ESAC DN 8. Clarifying thread type and nominal width before assembly saves reaching for an adapter later, which is where most leaks in mixed installations begin.
