Why treat compressed air?
Between compressor and point of use sits a chain of components that brings the air up to the required purity step by step: pre-filter, micro-filter, activated carbon filter, plus a pressure regulator and – where tools need it – a lubricator. Otherwise water, oil, rust and particles from the network end up in the tool, in the process or in the product. Which stages are needed depends on the application: drive air for cylinders and tools makes different demands than process air or air used for breathing.
The series at a glance
The range is divided into seven series. The standard series has the classic design: compressed air filters, micro-filters, pressure regulators, filter regulators and lubricators in six sizes with connection threads from G ⅛ to G 2, joined into FRL units by double nipples. Special versions include large, high-pressure, in-line and precision regulators as well as water pressure regulators. The airvision series covers the same set of devices in a modular economy design with G ⅛ and G ¼.
variobloc and combibloc – modular or compact
variobloc is the modular series: compressed air filters, micro-filters, membrane dryers, activated carbon filters, pressure regulators, precision and battery regulators, filter regulators, lubricators and a mobile FRL unit, plus manifolds, manifolds with check valve, 3/2-way on-off valves, ball valves with venting and soft-start valves. Filter grade, drain valve, pressure range and bowl material can largely be combined at will. combibloc takes the opposite route and combines filter, pressure regulator and lubricator in a single, extremely space-saving device – with a twin bowl in polycarbonate, optionally with a metal guard or as a metal bowl.
airclean and vma – up to odour-free breathing air
Where purity matters, the filter systems take over. airclean is a modular direct-flange system with pre-filter, micro-filter and activated carbon filter in six sizes from G ¼ to G 2. vma is available as a single device or as a combination in four sizes with connections from G ¾ to G 2 to DIN ISO 228; the graded programme runs from technically clean compressed air for working equipment through process air to odour-free breathing air. Housings and bowls are made of aluminium.
Stainless steel, condensate drains and the rest of the ewo range
For corrosive environments there is the stainless steel series: filters, pressure regulators, filter regulators and FRL units with connection threads from G ¼ to G 1, plus threaded fittings and ball valves from G ⅛ to G 2 and a DN 7.4 safety coupling. Condensate leaves the devices through manual drains, semi-automatic valves that drain when depressurised, or fully automatic external and internal drains, timer-controlled or electronic, up to 20 bar. Beyond treatment, the ewo range covers compressed air accessories such as couplings, fittings and hoses as well as directional, blow-off and safety valves, the workshop air service with tyre inflators and blow guns, and gas welding and propane equipment with cylinder regulators, safety devices and welding torches.
