Gemue 9514 Pneumatic actuator for Gemue 514
The Gemue 9514 is the original replacement actuator for the Gemue 514 angle seat globe valve. We are an authorised Gemue dealer and stock 347 versions of this series.

Which valve this actuator fits
In an angle seat globe valve the seat sits at an angle in the body and the medium flows through almost in a straight line. That gives a much lower pressure drop than a straight globe valve and makes the design the standard answer for steam, hot water and aggressive media. The actuator sits at an angle above the body and is the moving top works – exactly the part that wears in operation. When the actuator is replaced the valve body stays in the pipework, only the top works are changed. Complete valves are in the globe valves category, further spare parts in valve spare parts.
Actuator versions and nominal sizes
The series covers the nominal sizes DN 10–80; the decisive selection criterion is the nominal size of the installed valve body. The actuator is supplied as a aluminium piston actuator. 17 versions differ in the actuator version. Actuator sizes available in this series: 0, 1, 1/1, 1/2, 2, 2/1, 2/2, 2/3, 2/4, 2/5, 2/6, 2/7, 2/8, 3, 4.
Control function and operation
The actuator is pneumatically operated and available with the control functions normally closed (NC), normally open (NO), double acting (DA) and double acting and normally open. The control function has to match the plant’s safety logic and cannot be changed afterwards – please check it on the installed actuator before ordering.
Regulating cone and flow characteristic
Part of this series (150 versions) carries a regulating cone and turns the on/off valve into a control valve. The regulating cone sets the Kv value and therefore the flow at full stroke; in this series the values range from 0,063–145 m³/h. Besides the linear characteristic there is the equal-percentage characteristic (mod. EQ), where an equal change in stroke produces an equal percentage change in flow – the usual choice for temperature and pressure control loops. For small flow rates there are additionally versions with a reduced seat. Kv value and characteristic are part of the type code and have to match the control task, not just the nominal size.
Versions for special requirements
Beyond the standard version this series offers:
- versions with an integrated CONEXO RFID chip for electronic identification and traceability
- bellows versions, some with metallic sealing – the spindle is then completely separated from the medium
- different spindle seals (PTFE-PTFE, PTFE-FKM, FKM-PTFE)
- versions for higher operating and ambient temperatures
- a special version for oxygen (medium temperature max. 60 °C)
- versions with a rigid plug fixing
- versions for paint shops whose wetted parts are free from substances that prevent paint adhesion
- a PTFE-free version
Selection and ordering
The decisive detail for ordering is the type code of the installed actuator; it is shown in the short description of every item and in the technical data. Nominal size, actuator size, control function, seat seal and – where present – the regulating cone all have to match.
