Schneider Electric is a French electrical engineering and automation group focused on electrification, automation and digitisation. We list more than 9,100 Schneider items – from the single auxiliary contact to the circuit breaker for the main distribution board. DIN rail devices and modular gear
The low voltage programme starts with around 2,280 DIN rail devices: miniature circuit breakers, residual current devices, combinations of both, plus auxiliary and signalling contacts. Some 610 items belong to the Multi9 series. When replacing one, what decides — besides rated current and tripping characteristic — is whether the module widths and the connection type suit the existing board.
Circuit breakers and switch disconnectors
For higher currents we stock a good 1,940 circuit breakers and switch disconnectors in moulded case and open designs. The choice depends on rated current, breaking capacity and whether the device only has to isolate or also to protect – and whether remote tripping, a motor operator or signalling contacts are needed.
Motor protection and contactors
With around 3,220 items the largest block: contactors, motor protection switches and protection relays. Motor protection switches are set to the rated current of the motor, not of the supply line; contactor and protective device have to match as a pair. Tell us the motor data and the switching frequency and we will narrow it down together.
Command and signalling devices
Nearly 1,190 push buttons, selector switches, pilot lights and joysticks for cabinet doors and control panels. What matters is mounting diameter, protection rating and whether front element and contact block are bought as a complete unit or as a kit – for extensions of existing installations usually the latter.
Energy metering and power quality
Around 280 devices for energy metering and network analysis record consumption, load profile and power quality. Where reactive power, harmonics or voltage dips become an issue, the good 210 items from power quality and power factor correction come in. Both pay off above all where load peaks cost money or sensitive electronics hang on the network.
