Baumer
Baumer is a family-run Swiss group headquartered in Frauenfeld, founded in 1952 by Herbert Baumer and still family-owned. The range runs from simple object detection to industrial image processing. OT Seelmann lists 4.816 Baumer items across nine areas. We are an authorised Baumer distributor.
Object detection and connectivity
The largest block is Object Detection with 2.137 items: inductive proximity switches in cylindrical and rectangular styles, including factor-1 types that switch at the same distance on any metal, plus photoelectric sensors, fiber optic sensors, capacitive and magnetic sensors and ultrasonics. Distance measurement and encoders
Where a measured value is needed instead of a switching signal, Distance measurement takes over with 366 items: laser distance sensors down to the micrometre range, ultrasonics independent of colour and transparency, radar even in dust and fog, plus inductive distance sensors and measuring wheel encoders. Rotary encoders / angle sensors cover speed and position with 191 items — absolute and incremental, solid or hollow shaft, and as HeavyDuty versions for shock, vibration and outdoor use.
Image processing, smart vision and identification
With 447 items, Industrial Cameras / Image Processing is a field of its own: industrial cameras of the CX, LX, AX and QX series with GigE, 10 GigE, USB3 and Camera Link interfaces, plus lenses, illumination, mountings and network components. Smart Vision Sensors adds 47 items with VeriSens vision sensors and smart 2D profile sensors, and Identification contributes code readers.
Process sensors and accessories
Process Sensors covers 56 items for level and point level. The Accessories section with 458 items holds the sensor system together: mountings for solid and hollow shaft encoders, shaft couplings, torque supports, reflectors, mounting accessories and signal processing.
