Mobile Blast Systems

Mobile blast systems from Clemco work on the Wetblast principle: abrasive and water are brought together only after the metering valve. This binds the dust in the blast stream while the pot itself stays dry. As an authorised Clemco factory representative we supply both sizes – the Wetblast Flex with its own 500 litre water tank and the more compact Wetblast Flex Kompakt for connection to an existing water supply.

How the Wetblast principle works

Conventional wet blasting machines hold a water and abrasive slurry inside the pot. That means wear inside the pot and time-consuming emptying and cleaning at the end of every shift. Clemco takes a different route:

  • The blast pot is filled with plain abrasive as in dry blasting and stays dry.
  • Water is added to the abrasive and air mixture only downstream of the metering valve.
  • The result: no washing out of the pot after work, considerably less wear on pot and metering valve.
  • The mixing ratio can be readjusted manually at any time during blasting.

Why blast with reduced dust?

The closed principle keeps dust emission to a minimum. That is decisive wherever open dry blasting is not practical:

  • Work during ongoing operation, in production halls or on plant that cannot be fully enclosed.
  • Jobs in residential surroundings, in heritage conservation and where dust release is restricted.
  • Coatings and substrates where dust generation is a hazardous substance issue.
  • Less effort for enclosure, extraction and cleaning of the surroundings.

Important: personal protective equipment with blast helmet and breathing air supply remains mandatory in wet blasting too. The relief concerns the surroundings and dust release, not the protection of the operator.

Wetblast Flex or Wetblast Flex Kompakt?

Both machines use the same process, the same PT metering valve technology, HMS water separator, 9.5 mm tungsten carbide nozzle and 10 m blast hose. The difference lies in the water supply and the footprint.

Wetblast Flex

  • Its own 500 litre water tank plus a 140 litre blast pot – self-sufficient, even without a water connection on site.
  • Dimensions 2000 x 1500 x 800 mm, weight 330 kg.
  • Transport frame with fork pockets and lifting eyes.
  • Water pump W-92 with filter and pressure pump, recommended water pressure 2–4 bar.
  • The right choice for sites without a reliable water supply.

Wetblast Flex Kompakt

  • 100 litre blast pot with pressure regulator, without its own water tank – connected to a water line or a standing water source, the integrated pressure pump provides the necessary pressure.
  • Dimensions 1200 x 1100 x 1400 mm – noticeably narrower and therefore easier to move through tight access ways.
  • Sturdy frame with fork pockets and castors.
  • Water pump W-92 with non-return valve, water pressure 0–4 bar, minimum air pressure 4 bar.
  • The right choice for workshop and hall use where water is available anyway and floor space is tight.

Three operating modes in one machine

  • Wet blasting – with water supply, for minimum dust generation.
  • Dry blasting – without water supply, when the substrate has to stay dry or no dust restrictions apply.
  • Blow-off with air only – for dedusting and cleaning the workpiece, without abrasive.

The abrasive cut-off switch with its double function allows switching between modes without converting the machine.

What you need in addition

  • Compressed air: around 5 m³/min at 6 bar with the standard 9.5 mm nozzle, 10 bar maximum. The compressor has to deliver continuously, not just at peak.
  • Water: a connection or standing source for the Flex Kompakt, only for filling the tank on the Flex.
  • Abrasive: every common blasting medium can be used.
  • Personal protective equipment with blast helmet and breathing air filter – not included in the scope of delivery.

Certificates, vessel documents and safety compliance

  • The blast machine and its pressure vessel comply with all statutory German and European requirements.
  • On delivery you receive the necessary documentation: the CE declaration of conformity, the declaration of conformity for the pressure vessel, the operating instructions for both the blast machine and the pressure vessel, and – depending on the equipment fitted – the CE certificates for individual components.
  • Only with this complete set of documents can the blast machine be presented to a technical inspection body (such as TÜV or DEKRA in Germany) prior to commissioning; the inspecting body then sets the further inspection intervals.

Spare and wear parts

  • We keep all common wear and spare parts as well as accessories in stock – nozzles, hoses, pump parts and filter elements – and can supply them quickly throughout Europe if needed.
  • We are happy to advise you on any questions about your blasting equipment and, on request, work with you to develop suggestions for reducing wear on your equipment.

Prefer dry blasting after all?

Where no dust restrictions apply and surface output matters most, conventional pressure blast machines are the more economical choice. You will find individual pots in every size under Clemco blast pots and fully equipped packages including blast helmet and breathing air filter under Clemco blast systems.

Frequently asked questions about mobile blast systems

Is wet blasting really dust-free?

The closed Wetblast principle reduces dust emission to a minimum, but it does not replace protective equipment. A blast helmet with breathing air supply remains mandatory. The practical gain is in the surroundings: less enclosure, less extraction, less cleaning.

Does the pot have to be cleaned after blasting?

No – that is the key difference from systems that hold a water and abrasive slurry in the pot. Because water is added downstream of the metering valve, the pot stays dry and does not have to be washed out.

Which machine suits me?

If water is reliably available on site and floor space is tight, the Wetblast Flex Kompakt is the right choice. On sites without a water connection the Wetblast Flex with its 500 litre tank shows its advantage.

Which compressor do I need?

With the standard 9.5 mm tungsten carbide nozzle air consumption is around 5 m³/min at 6 bar. What counts is the compressor's continuous output, not its peak figure. Talk to us before ordering if you are unsure.

Can I also blast dry?

Yes. Both machines run without water supply as a normal pressure blast machine and can additionally be used for plain air blow-off.
