Blast Systems

A Clemco blast system is a fully configured complete package: blast pot, remote control, blast hose, nozzle, blast helmet and breathing air supply are matched to each other and ready for immediate use. As an authorised Clemco factory representative we supply systems from the 20 litre compact package to the double chamber system with 2 x 150 litres for two operators – each with a TÜV-tested vessel design and the complete set of pressure vessel documents.

What is included in a blast system?

Every complete set contains all the components actually needed for blasting:

  • Blast pot with metering valve (MP-1/2", FSV, QK or PT), screen and lid.
  • Remote control RMM-50A or RMS-2000A including remote control hose and RLX-III hand lever.
  • Water separator HMS 1 1/2", or MM-HMS 1/2" on the compact systems.
  • Blast hose SM-1 or SM-2 with fitted coupling and nozzle holder, in 5, 10 or 20 metre lengths.
  • Blast nozzle – boron carbide CB-5/25 on the compact systems, SMS-4 or SXS-6 on the larger ones.
  • Blast helmet APOLLO-100 or APOLLO-600 with wear lenses and breathing air hose with CE safety coupling.
  • Breathing air filter CPF-20R or CPF-80 for conditioning the breathing air.

Blast system or special package – what is the difference?

You will find both variants in this category, but they address different situations.

  • Blast systems are full packages including personal protection: blast hose, nozzle, blast helmet and breathing air filter are included. The right choice if you are starting out or equipping a second work station completely.
  • Special packages contain the pot with its basic equipment – FSV metering valve, RMS-2000A remote control, HMS water separator, screen, lid, 20 m remote control hose and RLX-III hand lever – but no blast hose, no nozzle and no protective equipment. Useful if helmet, filter and hoses are already in place and only the pot unit is to be replaced or added.

Which system suits your work?

  • 20 and 40 litres (SCW-1028, SCW-1628): compact systems with 5 m hose length, CB-5/25 nozzle and APOLLO-100 helmet. For repairs, assembly and short mobile jobs.
  • 60 litres (SCW-1638): 10 m hose length, SMS-4 nozzle, APOLLO-100. The entry point into regular workshop operation.
  • 100 to 300 litres (SCW-2040, SCW-2048, SCWB-2452, SCWB-2460): 20 m blast and remote control hose, SXS-6 nozzle, APOLLO-600 helmet. For continuous operation and larger components.
  • 2 x 150 litres (CADWB-2460): double chamber system with two complete blasting stations, two APOLLO-600 helmets and a CPF-80 breathing air filter. For uninterrupted blasting with two operators.

Blast helmet and breathing air supply

In compressed-air blasting the breathing air supply is not optional, it is a requirement. All complete systems therefore include a helmet, a breathing air hose with CE safety coupling and a breathing air filter.

  • APOLLO-100 – blast helmet of the compact and entry-level systems, with 25 wear lenses.
  • APOLLO-600 – helmet of the larger systems, with two packs of 25 wear lenses and a wider field of view.
  • CPF-20R and CPF-80 – breathing air filters, each sized to the number of blasting stations.

Certificates, vessel documents and safety compliance

  • The blast machine and its pressure vessel comply with all statutory German and European requirements.
  • On delivery you receive the necessary documentation: the CE declaration of conformity, the declaration of conformity for the pressure vessel, the operating instructions for both the blast machine and the pressure vessel, and – depending on the equipment fitted – the CE certificates for individual components.
  • Only with this complete set of documents can the blast machine be presented to a technical inspection body (such as TÜV or DEKRA in Germany) prior to commissioning; the inspecting body then sets the further inspection intervals.

Spare and wear parts

  • We keep all common wear and spare parts as well as accessories for your blast system in stock – nozzles, wear lenses, hoses, couplings and filter elements – and can supply them quickly throughout Europe if needed.
  • We are happy to advise you on any questions about your blasting equipment and, on request, work with you to develop suggestions for reducing wear on your equipment.

Only need the pot?

If protective equipment, hoses and nozzles are already in place and you are looking for the pot unit only, you will find all individual pots in every size under Clemco blast pots.

Frequently asked questions about blast systems

Is a blast system ready to use straight away?

Apart from the compressed air supply and the abrasive, yes: pot, remote control, hoses, nozzle, helmet and breathing air filter are included and matched. In addition you need an adequately sized compressor and the abrasive suited to the job.

Which compressor do I need?

That depends mainly on the nozzle size, not on the pot volume. Talk to us – we will check nozzle, hose cross-section and available air volume together with you before you order.

What is the difference between APOLLO-100 and APOLLO-600?

Both are CE-compliant blast helmets with breathing air supply. The APOLLO-600 has a wider field of view and is supplied with twice the number of wear lenses on the larger systems; the APOLLO-100 is the more compact helmet of the entry-level systems.

Can a system be extended later?

Yes. Hose lengths, nozzle sizes, helmets and filters can all be retrofitted individually. On the double chamber system a second blasting station can be added complete.

Does a special package include a blast helmet?

No. Special packages comprise the pot with basic equipment including remote control and water separator, but without blast hose, nozzle, helmet and breathing air filter. If you need protective equipment, choose a blast system.
